NBA playoffs: Paul George wanted the ball back for the last shot

Champions want the ball in the final moments. Paul George is not yet a champion, but he certainly thinks like one.

The forward may have been out of New York already if he wasn’t one of the very few players in the league with a no-trade clause in his contract. So even if the Knicks find a trading partner, they must come to Anthony to see if he’s OK with it.

Anthony said Wednesday that if Phil Jackson came to him with an honest plan, saying they want to rebuild, then he’d listen.

I have to figure it out at that point, Anthony said. It would have to be a decision I really sit down and think about and figure it out. I’m going to have to do a lot of figuring things out right now — sit down with my team, sit down with my family, really figure this out, kind of really put what’s important to me at this point in my career, which is winning.

Anthony has two years remaining on his contract.
