Victor Cruz on Giants return: ‘The ball is in their court’

Victor Cruz has two more seasons left on his contract with the Giants, but his place on the roster is anything but certain at this point.

Cruz, 30, fell into a No. 3 wide receiver role for New York this season behind Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Sterling Shepard. The veteran will force the Giants into a $9.4 million salary cap hit next season, so he may have to take a massive pay cut to stick around.

There is a chance Cruz may not be wiling to do that considering he already took a pay cut last March that reduced his base salary from $7.9 million to $1.3 million for the 2016 season.
